12-Month Secondment Opportunity - Internal DCC Employees only
Part time, 18.5 hrs per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable person who has recent experience of working within fostering and is passionate about working within Fostering Devon in the South Support and Supervision team to manage and lead the team in a restorative and who wants to make a difference to childrens lives.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager for 18.5 hours per week, to work across Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The South team currently have 2 x 18.5 hour Team Managers, supporting 7 Supervising Social workers and 111 foster carers looking after 120 children and young people, in a variety of family homes including mainstream, with Family and Friends – Kinship, CPAT (children and Parent Assessment Team) and within Devon County Council’s first Mockingbird constellation.
The post holder will need the relevant knowledge and experience of fostering and be responsible for leading, managing and having oversight of the South team, as well as being part of the wider county wide Fostering Devon Management Team. They will need the skills to drive and take part in the development of Fostering Devon as we continue to strive to be good within delivering a fostering service that meets compliance and fulfils its regulatory responsibility. In addition, advocating for foster carers and working in partnership with colleagues across Devon Children’s Services and partner agencies is an essential quality of the role.
