A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and empathetic candidate is sought to join the Traffic Management Group in the role of Operations Manager for the Civil Parking Enforcement Service.
The Traffic Management Group is responsible for the efficient running of a number of technical and operational functions, ranging from developing traffic management schemes to dealing with emergencies and delivering the County’s winter service, coordinating activity on the highway and Civil Parking Enforcement.
The Operations Manager will manage the day to day operation of Civil Parking Enforcement across the largest highway network in the country, with over 8000 miles of road. The post holder will have responsibility for a team of approximately 60 operational staff, including Team Leaders, Supervisors, and Civil Enforcement Officers.
The team will be directed to provide high quality parking enforcement to ensure safe and expeditious movement of traffic inline will County Policy and the Traffic Management Act 2004. The team also delivers enforcement services to off-street locations for both internal and third party clients. The service has continuously sought improvement and efficiencies in how officers are deployed to meet the needs of our communities and the post holder will continue to lead on this; maintaining an working knowledge of emerging technology, legislation and guidance as well as strong people management skills.
The post holder will not only ensure the smooth day to day running of the service but also the wellbeing of a large team. Supporting a large frontline team can be challenging and a good degree of personal resilience is important.
