The Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Education team are looking to appoint a GRTS Advisory Teacher
The GRTS Advisory Teacher works closely with Gypsy, Roma, Traveller and Showman young people, their families and local schools to support access to education. Home visits will be carried out, deliver Traveller awareness training, as well as attendance at school and multi-agency meetings. The GRTS Advisory Teacher will hold a caseload of young people across an area and will be required to support learning and also monitor attendance, progress and attainment.The successful candidate should have substantial experience working with a variety of young people and their families, although we appreciate that they may not have worked specifically with Gypsies and Travellers in the past, full ongoing support and training will be provided. The candidate must also have a sound level of knowledge and experience working within education.
Required qualifications: One of the following• Educated to degree level or equivalent• NVQ 4 or equivalent in relevant disciplineThe successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.
