A Job-Share opportunity has become available for a Highway Asset Manager. You will be working towards our strategic ambition of ensuring Devon is the best place to live and prosper. You will be leading a team in creating and implementing Highway Policy and Strategy and developing and improving systems and processes to achieve this. This is a key role in shaping the council’s ambition to address local highway considerations to respond to the climate change emergency. As part of your role, you will engage with councillors and other key stakeholders and draft committee reports. You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent ) and have subsequent professional development to chartered membership of the institution of civil engineers (or equivalent). You will be the County Council’s professional expert on Highway Asset Management matters. This role demands good communication skills, self-motivation, and flexibility.
The successful candidate will be based at Devon Highways, Heron Road, Sowton industrial Estate, Exeter, but will also need to visit locations throughout the County.
