Permanent
Full Time 37 hours per week
Do you have the leadership and project management skills to deliver ICT-related projects to a user base of 5,000 staff serving the needs of one of England’s largest counties?
If you are a Project Manager with a record of successfully delivering multiple, complex projects, the ICT Commissioning Team within Devon County Council’s (DCC) Digital & Technology Service would like to hear from you.
Work will be on a variety of projects. These will vary greatly in size and nature, but typically might include: purchase and implementation of software applications and services; creation of collaborative working spaces and business practices; continuing the migration of DCC’s data and services to the cloud; transition of staff into DCC from other organisations; or driving additional benefits from our investment in technology.
You must be able to evidence extensive experience of managing IT-related projects, using recognised formal project management methodology and tools. Delivering for local government or another public sector environment may be an advantage but is not essential.
You will be proficient at creating and maintaining project plans and co-ordinating project staff, whether from technical ICT teams, non-technical business areas, partner organisations, or external suppliers. You will be confident in managing project stakeholders, with the presentation skills to report and make recommendations at the highest level.
Good knowledge of the full range of Office365 tools, including Teams and SharePoint, may be an advantage.
The post is based at County Hall, Exeter, though your projects may require you to travel to other sites around Devon and occasionally beyond. However, all DCC staff are currently working at home where possible, so you must be confident about leading a project team remotely through on-line meetings.
Working for DCC offers benefits such as flexitime, Local Government Pension Scheme, a park and ride service to County Hall, a staff discount scheme, and 22 days annual leave (plus statutory holidays). For more information please look at our ICT Commissioning Team page on the site Working for Devon.
