We are looking for two Programme Officers to join our friendly, dedicated and highly professional Public Health team, a second vacancy is being advertised separately and will have a primary focus on Health Protection.
Public Health spans a broad range of overlapping workstreams including health protection, health improvement and health care public health.
In recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic, Public Health programmes will play an increasingly important role in addressing the widening health inequalities experienced by Devon’s population and in building a better future.
Co-creating the conditions for people to live happy and healthy lives is more important than ever. Our workstreams aim to ensure that we achieve this equitably and we do so by working with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders from local government, NHS, community and independent sector organisations alongside communities themselves.
To be successful you will need to be:
Dynamic, collaborative, creative, IT literate and able to form good relationships with our team members who are subject specialists within the various domains of Public Health and stakeholders from within and beyond DCC.
Area of focus for this post:
This post will have a primary focus on the Health Improvement and Inequalities (HIMP) Programme, which spans a broad range of themes including healthy lifestyles, ill-health prevention and the wider determinants of health. The role will also focus on the set up and development of a Healthy Schools support offer and in time, is likely support other programmes within Public Health.
Both posts are permanent at G Grade and are located at County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter, with remote working arrangements currently as per DCC policy.
