Job Description
The Revenue and Payments Team is responsible for a range of functions in respect of council wide services, including Cashiering, Payments, Income Collection, Income Processing & Bank Reconciliation, Debt Recovery & Debt Management.
The team are responsible for ensuring that invoices are paid promptly and for undertaking debt management processes where appropriate. They manage the authority’s online payment gateway and ensure all cash and cheques are receipted across the authority, including reconciliation and allocation through the authority’s financial systems for sums totalling in excess of £250 million per annum.
They also provide a payments helpdesk function, are responsible for ensuring that suppliers of services are paid promptly.
This role requires numeracy skills, alongside experience of working in a financial environment and in a customer facing role.
