If you’re looking for a new, exciting unique challenge and to further your experience within adoption, we are currently recruiting an independent Operational Board Chair for a 3-year term.
About the Role
This role is crucial to the success of Adopt South West, leading on a framework for all operational board meetings in acting as a critical friend to chair all board meetings and consistently promote and support continued improvements in a collaborative approach across all agency partners.
The expectation is to meet and report to the Operational Board approximately every 6 weeks, as well as attend quarterly Regional Adoption Agency strategic board meetings. The approximate commitment required is 1 day per month split across 12 months.
About You
You will have a proven track record in delivering high performing children’s services who can provide inspirational, inclusive and engaging oversight.
You will have extensive experience and up-to-date statutory and legal knowledge of adoption practice, national policy and inspection expectations. You may have gained this from the public or voluntary sector, having previously held a senior children’s social care leadership role.
You will have key organisational abilities as well as strategic chairing meeting skills to be able to effectively and efficiently manage complex meetings at a senior level.
You will be confident to quality assure partnerships and challenge where appropriately to promote safeguarding and welfare of our children and young people.
