Devon County Council are looking for a lawyer of 0-3 years PQE with litigation experience to join the Legal team. This is a chance to enjoy a truly varied range of cases for an organisation whose focus is to work with and for the local community. It is often said but any two days are rarely the same.
In this unique role you will manage a varied criminal litigation workload including Trading Standards, education, highways and planning enforcement prosecutions as well as civil litigation cases covering such areas as SEN, education, highways and debt recovery.
Previous Local Government experience is desirable but not essential, however you must demonstrate that you have a keen interest in working in the public sector. The post will require some advocacy experience and you will be required to attend court on a regular basis. The willingness to learn new areas of law and ability to provide fast-paced legal advice on a variety of legal topics is essential.
