Job Description
Are you someone with a can-do attitude who is motivated and looking to find a role in a friendly and supportive team at Devon County Council? If so, you could be the person we are looking for to join our busy team who arrange non-emergency patient transport for eligible people, registered with a Devon GP, to attend medical appointments both locally and across the country.
Patient Transport Advice Service (PTAS) are working in partnership with Devon CCG to ensure those people who need support are enabled to attend medical care services on suitable and safe transport.
In this role you will be speaking daily to patients, their carers, NHS professionals and DCC colleagues to source information regarding the patient and ensure we have all the details we need to assess the eligibility of the patient for NHS funded transport.
For those not eligible for NHS funded travel this will include giving information and advice on transport options (including public transport) to enable them to make their own safe travel.
Experience of working in a busy office environment with frequently changing priorities is required; if that experience is an NHS or transport organisation it would be beneficial but not essential. Good IT skills are essential, you will be using a range of Microsoft systems, as well as a few bespoke systems for transport provision and accounting - training will be given on our bespoke systems.
We are in the main still working from home, but it is expected that we will return to the office on an agile working basis, which will include some home working and some office-based activity. For training purposes, it is expected you will need to be available for face-to-face training for at least 2 weeks at the start of employment. After that, there is a minimum requirement to be in the office at least one day a month and attend for training and meetings as requested.
