Job Description
At Devon County Council, we’re committed to collaborating with other organisations so that Devon is one of the UK’s leading counties for citizens to grow up, live well, and prosper. With our strategic plan for 2021 – 2025, we’re creating a fairer, healthier and more caring Devon; one that’s greener, more prosperous, and offers an inclusive future for all.
Working as part of the Policy Integration Team that reports directly to the Council’s Chief Executive you will have an important role in shaping the Council’s corporate approaches to policy and strategy development.
The initial focus of your work will be to support the Programme Lead for the Devon, Plymouth and Torbay devolution deal. We are working with central Government on a devolution deal that puts the area at the forefront of tackling the social, economic and environmental issues that matter for local people.
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and with experience of working with people across organisational boundaries. You will need the ability to work collaboratively with and obtain the trust of a wide range of individuals and organisations. In return you will have the opportunity to live and work a county that boasts a vibrant city, thriving towns and some of the most scenic coasts and countryside in the UK.
DCC embraces the positive benefits of a diverse workforce and is committed to providing an environment that is inclusive and safe. We welcome applications from people who share our commitment to stop discrimination, challenge inequality and promote diversity across Devon.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about this role prior to applying, please telephone Roland Pyle (Head of Policy) on 01392 383419.
The Council offers flexible working arrangements in terms of when and where people work e.g. hybrid working, part-time, condensed hours etc. Take a look at our How We Work web pages.
