Job Description
Guiding Devon Workhubs space; by liaising and encouraging existing workhubs, and facilitating new workhub space by encouraging applications and assessing and determining funding packages. There are existing funding commitments to monitor.
Dealing with a small number of Economy and Enterprise Department property assets to support economic objectives in terms of sales/ leases and management.

As a member of a small team in the Economy, Enterprise and Skills Service, you will play a vital part in strengthening our economy, encouraging new business growth and supporting a thriving county. Reporting to the Manager for Strategic Development and Infrastructure, this varied role will see you developing economic and growth strategies and managing projects and programmes, such as strategic employment site development, low carbon solutions, infrastructure funding and our industrial estate portfolio.
Much of the role includes working closely and developing strong partnerships across the public and private sector. Managing key contracts with external suppliers and contractors, ensuring programmes are delivered on time, to quality and within budget. We will also look to you to manage and motivate staff and/or contractors. The role will involve a wide ranging remit. Please note in particular there will be responsibility for: -
Applying for, monitoring and administering Grant Funding Packages for several initiatives.
About youWith a proven track record in economic development, you should have knowledge of developing and managing property and infrastructure programmes and understand the importance of partnership working. Experience of winning external funding, along with management of capital and revenue budgets and delivery on the ground is essential. Influential, credible and authoritative, you should be confident advising and negotiating with a range of colleagues and stakeholders.
