Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a developing service which supports individuals, to promote, develop and sustain their independence. Enabling individuals in all aspects of daily living such as the use of assistive technology, teaching new ways and techniques . Building on individuals’ strengths, working towards goals to maximise their independence. .
The post holder will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the service on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the Deputy Community Service Manager. You will be responsible for the line management of staff including supervision, appraisal, and identifying training and development needs. You will offer support and guidance to staff on an individual basis so that they are skilled and empowered to contribute to the meet the persons outcomes and goals. You will be ensuring the team carry out appropriate assessments on individuals to identify their longer-term social care needs.
To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of leading and managing service change and developing a diverse staff team in similar services and settings, good observational, recording and communication skills. You will need to be dynamic, resilient, forward thinking, and able to work in a changing environment. You will be supporting the service to integrate with other short-term services provided by Torbay and South Devin NHS trust.
A key requirement of the role is to build and maintain effective relationships with individuals, carers, providers, commissioners, health and social care staff, and the wider community.
There will be a requirement to work with other short term service managers across the two organisations and to deputise for the deputy community service manager. .
