Devon County Council is recruiting for a warden to provide a lead role in day-to day management and maintenance of the public rights of way, unclassified county roads, and countryside access network, particularly to the southwest of the County (South Hams and West Devon area).
We are responsible for some of the UK’s most popular and well-regarded recreational trails, local routes, and paths. This includes enhancing and promoting the County’s network of over 5000 km of paths - helping to encourage and support health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and economic vitality.
Educated to degree level and/or with substantive work based training and experience in countryside, access and land management, you will have good working knowledge of relevant legislation, and associated powers and duties. Good interpersonal skills are also required. Key areas of focus will include co-ordinating maintenance and improvement works, path inspections and surveys, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and liaison with landowners, interest groups, town and parish councils and contractors.
The closing date is 12 midnight on Wednesday 30th November.
