Reaching for Independence is a dynamic short-term service which promotes independence, self-confidence, and positive wellbeing.
We build on an individuals’ strengths, aspirations, and goals by developing strategies and with the use of assistive technology we can broaden their options. We work closely with individuals and their families to achieve the goals that are important to the person, such as independent living skills, employment, education and being part of their community.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a developing service which supports individuals with short or long-term conditions to promote, develop and sustain their independence and enable individuals
in all aspects of daily living such as:
The post holder will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the service on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the Enabling Manager. You will be responsible for the line management of staff including supervision, appraisal and identifying training and development needs.
You will offer support and guidance to staff on an individual basis so that they are skilled and empowered to contribute to meet the person’s outcomes and goals. You will be assessing the needs of individuals to enable you to complete Care Act compliant reviews.
To succeed in this role, you will have evidence experience of leading and managing service delivery and developing a diverse staff team in similar services and settings, good observational, recording and communication skills. This will assist in the delivery of good quality assessments which will highlight any ongoing support that may be required. You will need to be dynamic, resilient, forward thinking, and able to work in a changing environment.
A key requirement of the role is to build and maintain effective relationships with individuals, parents, carers, providers, commissioners and the wider community.
