Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join Devon County Council to lead on a workforce project focussed on growing and retaining the occupational therapy workforce in Adult Social Care.
This new role is funded by Health Education England and will cover Devon County Council and Somerset County Council for one year and could be carried out virtually from wherever you live in the country!
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join us at Devon County Council, where we can offer a full-time online opportunity which will help us deliver our workforce transformation projects whilst utilising and developing your knowledge, skills and experience of OT and AHP workforce issues and opportunities. This innovative project will involve collaborating and networking with OT and AHP colleagues locally, regionally and nationally.
About the role
Occupational Therapists play a key role in enabling people to achieve the activities that are important to them in their everyday lives, to do all we can to promote independence and a sense of identity. In order to prevent, reduce and delay the need for care and support.
This is a short term externally funded by Health Education England for one year. This opportunity follow a successful Nationally recognised HEE funded project we completed last year that focussed on the Expansion of student placements.
This role will sit within our supportive and friendly workforce development team within Devon County Council.

About you
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for seeking innovative solutions and for leading change to join our workforce development team in this unique and exciting role.
You will provide a person-centred approach and have experience as an Occupational Therapist in a variety of settings. Ideally you will have experience of leading and managing workforce related issues and have the project management skills needed to lead and drive this work independently to achieve the outcomes of the project. However, this is not essential and training and support will be offered. You will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of this work within the wider workforce agenda linking and collaborating OT Workforce Leads and Principal Occupational Therapist.
